Children’s Ailments at Home – classes for Parents and Carers

I have been teaching parents and carers some helpful techniques since 1996, and have seen some very happy families as a result of the increased confidence and calm with which they can approach their children’s health and wellbeing. Focussing on keeping well and knowing the difference when the signs are of serious problems and when they are easily dealt with at home.

The aim of this workshop is for parents and carers to feel that sense of understanding their children’s and their own health better and to have some tools at their disposal to help reach and maintain good health and well being. So many of the problems in childhood appear in the middle of the night, and a parent / carer can feel so powerless unless they have something to hand to help the suffering child.

While I don’t wish to claim that this workshop will train you to a professional standard, it will give you some simple techniques and the appropriate times to use them. It is always worth remembering that everyone has their limitations and that we all need to call someone sometimes for help and support. You will be better able to recognise when it may be necessary to call the professionals hopefully. But most of all I hope to take some of the fear out of caring for children, so that you will be able to radiate the calm that is so necessary in a crisis in order for the child to feel they are in safe hands.

The origins of the techniques we are using are mainly Oriental, but also come from my Kinesiology knowledge and some anthroposophical (Steiner) sources. I have an extensive library and reference section, which you are welcome to look through as well as a reading reference list.
